After a rather tough play, Smithville's Roland Davies got a free kick in the 3rd minute. If Garrett Giguère had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 17th minute Anthony Gale suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Isaac Foucault charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isaac Foucault the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 17 played minutes Smithville got a freekick which was hit by Isaac Foucault. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 19th minute, when Alma AFC's Tommy Deserres after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Lavern Rutherford in Smithville's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Sidney Eastman in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lavern Rutherford, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Sidney Eastman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lavern Rutherford having to interfere. Riley Piedalue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garrett Giguère, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Riley Piedalue came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Smithville's Derek Lincoln. But to his dismay, Derek Lincoln quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Derek Lincoln in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Riley Piedalue saved Alma AFC from getting behind. A collision led to Smithville getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Arden Rousseau hit a great ball. With a little luck, Smithville's Lavern Rutherford got control of the ball when Sidney Eastman tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 42 minutes, Arden Rousseau mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Smithville and the Alma AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Smithville's Arden Rousseau got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Sidney Eastman struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Lavern Rutherford didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alma AFC. 47 minutes into the match, Alma AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Derek Lincoln came free, but Riley Piedalue reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Derek Lincoln got free with Riley Piedalue in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alonzo Sutton kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Derek Lincoln fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Riley Piedalue having to interfere. If Derek Lincoln had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Garrett Giguère got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 73rd minute of the match Erick Carpenter sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Riley Piedalue skillfully saved the ball. Lavern Rutherford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Eastman in the 75th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Alma AFC's zone, Garrett Giguère stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Riley Piedalue came out of the goal and Garrett Giguère tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 79 minutes into the game, Derek Lincoln cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Riley Piedalue was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Garrett Giguère was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 87th minute. Smithville's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Smithville's Lavern Rutherford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Eastman in the 91st minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Smithville walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
