Spectators: 6739 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1739, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Salvador Elliott kicked off to start the match. After a defensive mix-up in Smithville's zone, Vicente Pouchard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lavern Rutherford came out of the goal and Vicente Pouchard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Smithville's Lavern Rutherford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Elliott in the 9th minute of play. Derek Lincoln struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Mose Andersen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Smithville. After 19 played minutes, Helston AFC's Eddy Gingras shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lavern Rutherford came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Helston AFC reached it. Salvador Elliott fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lavern Rutherford having to interfere. Lavern Rutherford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Pouchard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Smithville's Garrett Giguère got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Derek Lincoln had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Derek Lincoln struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Mose Andersen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Smithville. In the 36th match minute, Helston AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ned Geiger to maneuver through the defense. After taking down the ball on Smithville's corner Isaac Foucault fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mose Andersen quite easily take care of the ball. Vicente Pouchard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Smithville's Lavern Rutherford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Elliott in the 48th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Garrett Giguère was the one to do the kick off. Helston AFC's Mose Andersen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derek Lincoln in the 61st minute of play. In the 86th minute, Derek Lincoln got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Helston AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! Garrett Giguère sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ned Geiger hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Smithville fans cheered their team off the field, for while Helston AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
