Maria Handy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santiago Gilliam in the 7th minute. Bayfield's Sanford Rader got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Santiago Gilliam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rudolf Gagne kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the game, Normand Aguilera was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bayfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave McGillivray AFC the free kick. After 22 played minutes Bayfield got a freekick which was hit by Normand Aguilera. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jere Kohler in the 27th minute of play forced Bayfield's goalkeeper Maria Handy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Santiago Gilliam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. McGillivray AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santiago Gilliam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, McGillivray AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Millard Haines came free, but Clark Blalock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. McGillivray AFC's Santiago Gilliam got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st match minute, McGillivray AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alva Rice to maneuver through the defense. Millard Haines received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Clark Blalock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Millard Haines was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of McGillivray AFC booed when Bayfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josiah Boucher didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jere Kohler in the 59th minute of play forced Bayfield's goalkeeper Maria Handy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Millard Haines in the 62nd minute of play forced McGillivray AFC's goalkeeper Clark Blalock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The McGillivray AFC fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when McGillivray AFC's Santiago Gilliam looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When McGillivray AFC's Santiago Gilliam in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Sanford Rader could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Clark Blalock made a huge save. The supporters of Bayfield booed when McGillivray AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Logan Simmons didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute of the match, Millard Haines tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Clark Blalock saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Millard Haines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maria Handy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santiago Gilliam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sanford Rader received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Clark Blalock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. McGillivray AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Bayfield for a fine match.
