Jerry Gifford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maria Handy having to interfere. Gaspard Isaac shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Sanford Rader managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bayfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Sanford Rader was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rex Saucedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rex Saucedo made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Sanford Rader sent off a good shot on target. Jerry Gifford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rex Saucedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Millard Haines in the 44th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Fawcett's goal looked a bit too open when Renard Hillman came free, but Rex Saucedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Millard Haines was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Bayfield getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Sydney Irizarry hit a great ball. With a little luck, Bayfield's Maria Handy got control of the ball when Jerry Gifford tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Vito Kellogg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vito Kellogg in the 74th minute of play forced Bayfield's goalkeeper Maria Handy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sanford Rader fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Saucedo having to interfere. Millard Haines received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Rex Saucedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 86 minutes of play, Fawcett's Jerry Gifford made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maria Handy was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Fawcett booed when Bayfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clarence Paulet didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Fawcett eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
