Spectators: 6746 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1746, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lucien Perdue got the match started through his kick off. A collision led to Piquitonay FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Lambert Tharp hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucien Perdue in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nestor Despins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brock Kearney blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nestor Despins having to make a save. A collision led to Piquitonay FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Collin Loomis hit a great ball. After 11 played minutes, Neptune's Baptiste Lowry shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nestor Despins came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Neptune reached it. In the 13th minute, Brock Kearney got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jeffry Yazzie might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Randell Coulombe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeffry Yazzie ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Neptune's zone, Buster McDaniel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Randell Coulombe came out of the goal and Buster McDaniel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeffry Yazzie came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Randell Coulombe could save by the left post. After 28 minutes of play, Neptune's Delmer Barker made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nestor Despins was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Lucien Perdue came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Neptune fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucien Perdue couldn't finish the play. Jeffry Yazzie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Randell Coulombe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute Buster McDaniel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Randell Coulombe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Casey Grandbois hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Lucien Perdue fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Despins having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Buster McDaniel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brock Kearney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neptune were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Piquitonay FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Baptiste Lowry took the corner. After a defensive mix-up in Piquitonay FC's zone, Lucien Perdue stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nestor Despins came out of the goal and Lucien Perdue tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 66 minutes into the match, Neptune's goal looked a bit too open when Buster McDaniel came free, but Randell Coulombe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Houston Villarreal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Piquitonay FC's zone, Lucien Perdue stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nestor Despins came out of the goal and Lucien Perdue tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeffry Yazzie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Lucien Perdue came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Neptune fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucien Perdue couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute, Jacob Redding hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Neptune's Lucien Perdue in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Piquitonay FC's goalie prevented a goal. Brock Kearney recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Neptune supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Neptune would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
