Spectators: 6761 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1761, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lucien Perdue started the match with the kick off. Yale's Milton Abraham got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brock Kearney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Elwood Lamour tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Huey Snider got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yale's Elwood Lamour played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucien Perdue in the 14th minute of play. Brock Kearney struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Elwood Lamour didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Neptune. If Lucien Perdue had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brock Kearney could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Elwood Lamour made a huge save. In the 23rd minute Lucien Perdue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elwood Lamour saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 24 minutes, Lucien Perdue managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Neptune's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucien Perdue was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Neptune's Brock Kearney got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th match minute, Yale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lawrence Atkins to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute, Lucien Perdue reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elwood Lamour. The goal made the score 1-0. If Huey Snider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Elwood Lamour made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brock Kearney in the 36th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Randell Coulombe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milton Abraham in the 56th minute of play. If Huey Snider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Delmer Barker's late challenge caught a Yale's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delmer Barker helped the player get up and apologised. Delmer Barker kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Rene Rowland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elwood Lamour took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucien Perdue, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Huey Snider received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Randell Coulombe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Milton Abraham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Milton Abraham was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 75th minute. Yale's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 76th minute, Rene Rowland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Milton Abraham's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Randell Coulombe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. After 94 minutes Yale's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Baptiste Lowry who took care of the corner kick. After some careless play in the Yale defense, Brock Kearney kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elwood Lamour. The Yale fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elwood Lamour should have stopped the shot. Yale's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
