Montmartre AFC's August Paulet got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute Raphael Hodges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dwain Létourneau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Coy King sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

After a rather tough play, Borden FC's Rodolfo Youngblood got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 55 minutes into the game, one of Montmartre AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 0-1 came through a penalty shot after 57 played minutes, when Borden FC:s Corey Faubert calmly waited for Montmartre AFC:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miquel Eason in the 61st minute of play forced Montmartre AFC's goalkeeper Irving Houde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Coy King sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Montmartre AFC booed when Borden FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantin Hawkins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dwain Létourneau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raphael Hodges, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Irving Houde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miquel Eason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute, Évariste Bush hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Marco Proulx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, Montmartre AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Miquel Eason came free, but Irving Houde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Borden FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Borden FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
