The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Modestine Holmes made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when John Gougeon sent off a good shot on target. Modestine Holmes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hosea Allen in the 8th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Rouleau's Gratien Christiansen got a free kick in the 9th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Pilger's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Conner came free, but Kristofer Duffy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pons Potvin hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. The long shot by Vern Dufure in the 22nd minute really tested Modestine Holmes's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Dewitt Stoner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristofer Duffy having to interfere. Rouleau's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pons Potvin in the 28th minute. The corner ended in Pons Potvin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Pilger's Kristofer Duffy did a great save. 32 minutes into the match, Rouleau's goal looked a bit too open when Hosea Allen came free, but Modestine Holmes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Hosea Allen took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Modestine Holmes to make any attempt to save it. Kristofer Duffy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dewitt Stoner in the 41st minute of play. If Roberto Conner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roberto Conner to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Conner in the 54th minute of play forced Pilger's goalkeeper Kristofer Duffy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Pilger's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Conner came free, but Kristofer Duffy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Modestine Holmes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Gougeon, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. If Dewitt Stoner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kristofer Duffy came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Rouleau's Roberto Conner. But to his dismay, Roberto Conner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If John Gougeon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Modestine Holmes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Gougeon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roberto Conner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rouleau's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vern Dufure was slow to take the kick. During this time Pilger's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Pilger's Vern Dufure to fire away a dangerous shot which Modestine Holmes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Hosea Allen sped through Rouleau's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Modestine Holmes. If Hosea Allen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
