The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wilber Burkhart got in the 4th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Derick Desruisseaux handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Derick Desruisseaux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilber Burkhart, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Wilber Burkhart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilber Burkhart might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Derick Desruisseaux. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilber Burkhart ran back to his position shaking his head. Shayne Hand could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Derick Desruisseaux made a huge save. Shayne Hand struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Derick Desruisseaux didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wyoming. Derick Desruisseaux made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Shayne Hand sent off a good shot on target. Napoleon Shipley's late challenge caught a Wyoming's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Napoleon Shipley helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Troy FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Napoleon Shipley hit a great ball. Derick Desruisseaux showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilber Burkhart in the 32nd minute of the match. If Shayne Hand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcel Duran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilber Burkhart in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Derick Desruisseaux prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Wilber Burkhart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wilber Burkhart struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Derick Desruisseaux didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wyoming. Wilber Burkhart scored 1-0 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Derick Desruisseaux, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Marcel Duran made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Hugo Lacasse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th minute, Art Ledbetter sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Troy FC's Derick Desruisseaux didn't even have to move. Adalberto Call showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcel Duran, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Wilber Burkhart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Shayne Hand managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wyoming's supporters rose to their feet, but Shayne Hand was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Derick Desruisseaux breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wilber Burkhart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Derick Desruisseaux tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ahmed Nadeau's late challenge caught a Troy FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
