After 3 played minutes Massey got a freekick which was hit by Bertrand Dahl. Blaine Faucher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marius Berthelette having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Duran in the 7th minute of play forced Massey's goalkeeper Marius Berthelette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Marcel Duran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Marcel Duran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Troy FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcel Duran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marius Berthelette breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Marius Berthelette managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Troy FC's Blaine Faucher fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Derick Desruisseaux showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julien Clavet in the 19th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Julien Clavet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Derick Desruisseaux was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. In a very dangerous position, a player in Troy FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! After the first half Massey were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Marcel Duran made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Troy FC defense, Jamison Savoie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Derick Desruisseaux. The Troy FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Derick Desruisseaux should have stopped the shot. If Julien Clavet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Derek Dozier during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 55 played minutes Troy FC got a freekick which was hit by Derek Dozier. Troy FC's Derick Desruisseaux proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Troy FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blaine Faucher in the 65th minute of play forced Massey's goalkeeper Marius Berthelette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wade Franks kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Wade Franks's late challenge caught a Troy FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wade Franks helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Massey's Wade Franks got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Jamison Savoie struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Derick Desruisseaux didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Massey. After 81 played minutes Julien Clavet rounded Troy FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julien Clavet in the 84th minute of play forced Troy FC's goalkeeper Derick Desruisseaux to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jamison Savoie succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 85th playminute. In the 93rd minute Marcel Duran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marius Berthelette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hugo Lacasse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marius Berthelette having to interfere. Chants of Massey echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Troy FC had held the ball for most of the match.
