Spectators: 6739 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1739, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nicky Hébert started the match with the kick off. After 4 played minutes Exeter got a freekick which was hit by Dane Demers. Julien Clavet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustave Finch having to interfere. In the 17th minute Nicky Hébert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marius Berthelette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 19 minutes, Jamison Savoie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Massey's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jamison Savoie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustave Finch was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Julien Clavet showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 21 minute of play. Gustave Finch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julien Clavet in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Kip Pelletier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Exeter booed when Massey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel Hyde didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Exeter's Gérard Singer broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Dorsey Anderson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Marius Berthelette tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Massey's zone, Dorsey Anderson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marius Berthelette came out of the goal and Dorsey Anderson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kip Pelletier was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 36 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Massey fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 36th minute. Penalty! Marius Berthelette took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorsey Anderson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jamison Savoie made a kick off. Denver Caron charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Denver Caron the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Massey booed when Exeter was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denver Caron didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dorsey Anderson was extremely unlucky when he, in the 64th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a defensive mix-up in Exeter's zone, Jamison Savoie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustave Finch came out of the goal and Jamison Savoie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marius Berthelette was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nicky Hébert showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 70 minute of play. If Jamison Savoie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustave Finch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jamison Savoie in the 78th minute of play. Dane Demers's late challenge caught a Massey's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dane Demers helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Exeter eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
