Spectators: 7100 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 100) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Long Erickson got the match started through his kick off. Ross Royer came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Thornhill AFC's Long Erickson. But to his dismay, Long Erickson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Gerard Pennington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gerard Pennington came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Esterel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerard Pennington couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Thornhill AFC booed when Esterel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rusty Slater didn't get a good kick on the ball. Long Erickson struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Ross Royer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thornhill AFC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Long Erickson in the 22nd minute of play forced Esterel's goalkeeper Ross Royer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the game, one of Esterel:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Thornhill AFC a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ken Blackwell, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Esterel's Ross Royer. 0-2. Andres Cooper hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the match, Gerard Pennington notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Thornhill AFC's Lucius Montano. Lucius Montano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ross Royer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andres Cooper, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 31 minutes, Enoch Buckner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esterel and the Thornhill AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st match minute, Esterel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enoch Buckner to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Long Erickson in the 33rd minute of play forced Esterel's goalkeeper Ross Royer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 played minutes Esterel got a freekick which was hit by Georges Bunch. In the 38th minute Thornhill AFC were awarded a corner. Ken Blackwell went to the cornerflag to take it. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Gerard Pennington took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Lucius Montano to make any attempt to save it. 44 minutes into the match, Esterel's goal looked a bit too open when Long Erickson came free, but Ross Royer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerard Pennington to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerard Pennington in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucius Montano saved Thornhill AFC from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evan Lanier during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Esterel getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Evan Lanier hit a great ball. The supporters of Thornhill AFC booed when Esterel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Georges Bunch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gerard Pennington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucius Montano having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Lonnie Caldwell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the match, Esterel's goal looked a bit too open when Long Erickson came free, but Ross Royer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ross Royer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julien Clay in the 67th minute. Evan Lanier hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Ross Royer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mohammed Shipp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd match minute, Esterel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enoch Buckner to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Esterel getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Enoch Buckner hit a great ball. Lonnie Caldwell kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Lonnie Caldwell's late challenge caught a Thornhill AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lonnie Caldwell helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st minute, Lonnie Caldwell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute of the match Ken Blackwell sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ross Royer skillfully saved the ball. 86 minutes into the game, one of Esterel:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 89 minutes, Thornhill AFC's Ken Blackwell got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ross Royer. Andres Cooper struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Ross Royer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thornhill AFC. After 94 played minutes Esterel got a freekick which was hit by Enoch Buckner. The Thornhill AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
