After some careless play in the Beverly defense, Winfred Rock kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Art Rushing. The Beverly fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Art Rushing should have stopped the shot. Winfred Rock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Diodore Bryson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Art Rushing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Art Rushing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diodore Bryson in the 22nd minute of the match. Ilford's Diodore Bryson got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Beverly's goalkeeper Art Rushing, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dong Parmentier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathon Faure having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 35th minute by Dong Parmentier got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Art Rushing didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diodore Bryson went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dong Parmentier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathon Faure made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Baird in the 62nd minute of play. In the 74th match minute, Beverly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luc Cartier to maneuver through the defense.
