Clyde Kirkland was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luc Cartier kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Dong Parmentier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stuart Gour's late challenge caught a Beverly's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stuart Gour helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th minute, Stuart Gour hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francisco Nash in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Art Rushing saved Beverly from getting behind. Norman Hall succeeded in the game's 39th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Art Rushing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norman Hall in the 44th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Beverly's goal looked a bit too open when Norman Hall came free, but Art Rushing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mark Baird could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Clyde Kirkland made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mark Baird to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Lillestrom FC booed when Beverly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Russel Lepage didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lillestrom FC's Stuart Gour got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Norman Hall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Art Rushing having to interfere. When Norman Hall came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Lillestrom FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norman Hall couldn't finish the play. 59 minutes into the match, Beverly's goalkeeper Art Rushing had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Nash. With a little luck, Beverly's Art Rushing got control of the ball when Francisco Nash tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Norman Hall managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lillestrom FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Norman Hall was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Art Rushing breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luc Cartier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Art Rushing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the game, Eugene Munson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Beverly's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lillestrom FC the free kick. Stuart Gour walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 81st minute, Norman Hall got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Mark Baird came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Beverly fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Baird couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Lillestrom FC's Jules Rowell got a free kick in the 86th minute.
