Anson FC's Kurt Vincent got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute Raymundo Baird shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chauncey Borden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Anson FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Spencer Cardona hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, Valentin Cyr got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Del Guillory in the 21st minute of play forced Anson FC's goalkeeper Robby Fairchild to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kurt Vincent sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valentin Cyr blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Robby Fairchild having to make a save. Anson FC's Raymundo Baird pulled a muscle in his back after 36 minutes and couldn't finish the game. A collision led to Vanguard getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Salvador Goins hit a great ball. Kurt Vincent recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valentin Cyr scored 1-0 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robby Fairchild, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 45 minutes, Hipolito Lamontagne mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Anson FC and the Vanguard players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of Anson FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vanguard:s goal. In the 47th minute there was a penalty for Vanguard. Jerold Lloyd stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Robby Fairchild. 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kurt Vincent stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kurt Vincent got free with Chauncey Borden in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 58 minutes, Kurt Vincent managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anson FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kurt Vincent was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Vanguard's Chauncey Borden got control of the ball when Kurt Vincent tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 63 minutes of play, Vanguard's Valentin Cyr made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Robby Fairchild was left in no man's land by his defense there! 68 minutes into the match, Anson FC's Kurt Vincent sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chauncey Borden narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Del Guillory had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robby Fairchild showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Del Guillory in the 74th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Anson FC's Spencer Cardona got a free kick in the 75th minute. When Kurt Vincent came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Anson FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kurt Vincent couldn't finish the play. After having played for 80 minutes, Valentin Cyr managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vanguard's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentin Cyr was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Vanguard booed when Anson FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serge Zimmerman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Del Guillory received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Robby Fairchild tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valentin Cyr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robby Fairchild having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Vanguard's Del Guillory nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robby Fairchild made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Anson FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vanguard.
