Simmie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Neil Duplanty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mathew Richter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Robby Fairchild tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Casey Adams fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Simmie's protests and gave Casey Adams a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th minute, Casey Adams hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Angel Myers came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Simmie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angel Myers couldn't finish the play. Anson FC's Robby Fairchild played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathew Richter in the 18th minute of play. If Mathew Richter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robby Fairchild showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathew Richter, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Simmie's Jeffrey Wilburn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raymundo Baird in the 29th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mathew Richter to make the kick off. Mathew Richter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Monte Beverly got free with Robby Fairchild in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mathew Richter succeeded in the game's 61st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Mathew Richter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robby Fairchild having to interfere. Mathew Richter scored 0-3 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robby Fairchild, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Simmie's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
