In the 2nd minute Del Guillory shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Séverin Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 13 played minutes Edgar FC got a freekick which was hit by Byron Ritter. Byron Ritter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Chauncey Borden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 minutes, Ramon Moody mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vanguard and the Edgar FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Vanguard getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ramon Moody hit a great ball. Byron Ritter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chauncey Borden having to interfere. Chauncey Borden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Byron Ritter in the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Ellis Quenneville hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chauncey Borden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Byron Ritter, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. A hard shot by Refugio Esparza from long distance, 32 minutes into the match, got Séverin Romero's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. A hard shot 34 in the game by Valentin Cyr from a close distance when the talented Séverin Romero managed to make a qualified save. Edgar FC's players were relieved. Marcelino Begay kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes Vanguard got a freekick which was hit by Kerry Charlesbois. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Del Guillory stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vanguard's Chauncey Borden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Byron Ritter in the 51st minute of play. Edgar FC's Séverin Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Del Guillory in the 58th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Del Guillory managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vanguard's supporters crossed their fingers, but Del Guillory was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edgar FC's Séverin Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Del Guillory in the 63rd minute of play. Valentin Cyr hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. The supporters of Edgar FC booed when Vanguard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kerry Charlesbois didn't get a good kick on the ball. Byron Ritter struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Chauncey Borden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Edgar FC. Darnell Delarosa charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Darnell Delarosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Edgar FC booed when Vanguard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darnell Delarosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Edgar FC's Dalton Beaupré broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vanguard's goalkeeper Chauncey Borden, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edgar FC's Byron Hodge got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Byron Hodge managed to get in a good position for a shot. Edgar FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Byron Hodge was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chauncey Borden breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87th minute Byron Ritter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chauncey Borden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Edgar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Cyr came free, but Séverin Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darnell Delarosa hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Vanguard's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
