With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tyrell Christopher in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ned Pike saved Donnaconna from getting behind. The supporters of Brancepeth AFC booed when Donnaconna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Forrest McClelland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mitchel Smith struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Ned Pike didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brancepeth AFC. After 26 played minutes Tyrell Christopher could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-0 into the left cross. Tyrell Christopher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tyrell Christopher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Ned Pike tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Otha Braden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Forrest McClelland, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonel Boyles was the one to do the kick off. Raphael Weaver kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 57th minute of the match, Leonel Boyles tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Otha Braden saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tyrell Christopher in the 63rd minute of play forced Donnaconna's goalkeeper Ned Pike to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tyrell Christopher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ned Pike having to interfere. In the last second Otha Braden throw himself and got hold of the ball when Leonel Boyles in the 70thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 75th minute, Mitchel Smith sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Donnaconna's Ned Pike didn't even have to move. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Forrest McClelland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Donnaconna's supporters rose to their feet, but Forrest McClelland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otha Braden breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th minute, Leonel Boyles reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Otha Braden. The goal made the score 1-1. After a rather tough play, Brancepeth AFC's Jean Norris got a free kick in the 84th minute. Forrest McClelland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Otha Braden made a huge save. Raphael Weaver hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Mitchel Smith's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ned Pike was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Mitchel Smith might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ned Pike. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mitchel Smith ran back to his position shaking his head. Donnaconna succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Brancepeth AFC had controlled the match.
