Fitzgerald's Everett Deniger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Forrest McClelland in the 19th minute of play. Raphael Weaver kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Fiacre Garreau, 24 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Everett Deniger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Forrest McClelland, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. The supporters of Fitzgerald booed when Donnaconna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raphael Weaver didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Robby Merritt made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Fitzgerald got a corner. Donnaconna's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fiacre Garreau ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Fiacre Garreau almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Donnaconna's Ned Pike did a great save. Forrest McClelland scored 0-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Everett Deniger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dillon Carlson hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Raphael Weaver kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Ned Pike made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lupe Nunez in the 65th minute of play. If Robby Merritt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ned Pike showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robby Merritt in the 71st minute of the match. Forrest McClelland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raphael Weaver's late challenge caught a Fitzgerald's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donnaconna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fitzgerald the free kick. After recieving a nice pass, Fitzgerald's Fiacre Garreau tried to score from far away in the 95th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Donnaconna had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
