Fidel Koehler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilmer Major, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lionel Jacques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sal Hilliard during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Guigues AFC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Sal Hilliard hit a great ball. Wilmer Major sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th match minute, Guigues AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sheldon McGill to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 32 minutes, Gérard Lacharité managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guigues AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gérard Lacharité was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wilmer Major struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Fidel Koehler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CA River Plate. After a defensive mix-up in Guigues AFC's zone, Wilmer Major stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fidel Koehler came out of the goal and Wilmer Major tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgardo Tompkins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fidel Koehler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Wilmer Major sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Karl Létourneau got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Keenan Chase struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Hollis Braden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guigues AFC. When CA River Plate's Lionel Jacques in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guigues AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Lionel Jacques recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilmer Major blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fidel Koehler having to make a save. When Wilmer Major came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the CA River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilmer Major couldn't finish the play. Fidel Koehler came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by CA River Plate's Wilmer Major. But to his dismay, Wilmer Major quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Wilmer Major fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Koehler having to interfere. Chester Hurd hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Guigues AFC defense, Wilmer Major kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fidel Koehler. The Guigues AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fidel Koehler should have stopped the shot. In the 85th minute, Lionel Jacques got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edgardo Tompkins succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-4 in the 89th playminute. 93 minutes into the game, one of Guigues AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Fidel Koehler, was totally fooled by CA River Plate's Davis Lara, who 96 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When the match was over CA River Plate could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Guigues AFC throughout the match.
