Match Report
Evesham
Spectators: 6720 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 0) Evesham's Dee Dillard started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Gary Caudill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Israel Marreros short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Britt Rose to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 11th minute Dee Dillard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Britt Rose saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Evesham's goal looked a bit too open when Paris Goins came free, but Octavio Tobin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gary Caudill charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gary Caudill the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Evesham getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Gary Caudill hit a great ball. When Ronald Nix fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Evesham's protests and gave Ronald Nix a yellow card for diving instead. Ronald Nix kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Britt Rose made an important save on a dangerous shot by Israel Marrero in the 26th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Germain Bauer during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Germain Bauer kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Dee Dillard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Britt Rose saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Germain Bauer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Gallows's Britt Rose got control of the ball when Israel Marrero tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 35th play minutes Luke Lin shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Octavio Tobin and just under the crossbar into goal. Evesham's Octavio Tobin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luke Lin in the 42nd minute of play. Paris Goins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Octavio Tobin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Evesham players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gallows were winning 0-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luke Lin to strike the kick off in the second half. Luke Lin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Dee Dillard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dee Dillard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Britt Rose having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Israel Marrero notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Gallows's Britt Rose. Britt Rose was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 67th match minute, Gallows was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kirby Browning to maneuver through the defense. When Paris Goins came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Gallows fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paris Goins couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Dee Dillard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Britt Rose was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. The supporters of Evesham booed when Gallows was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Germain Bauer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carson Greer, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 88 played minutes Gallows got a freekick which was hit by Kirby Browning. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
