The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Leslie Pope showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Ducharme, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. The audience was convinced that Cecil Benavides's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leslie Pope was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. The supporters of Coniston booed when Newbrook AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cecil Benavides didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Cecil Benavides managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newbrook AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cecil Benavides was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leslie Pope breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 45 minutes into the match, İlkan Karlukhan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leslie Pope. Coniston's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that İlkan Karlukhan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2.

The wind increased when Graig Dunlap made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecil Benavides in the 51st minute of play forced Coniston's goalkeeper Leslie Pope to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Newbrook AFC's İlkan Karlukhan got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Newbrook AFC's Timothy Landers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Graig Dunlap in the 58th minute of play. Timothy Landers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Graig Dunlap, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute, Graig Dunlap hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 67 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Newbrook AFC! In the 69th minute there was a penalty for Coniston. Cary Mendoza stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Timothy Landers. 1-2. Cecil Benavides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Leslie Pope tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leandro Ducharme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Coniston's Leslie Pope played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cecil Benavides in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st match minute, Coniston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean Littlejohn to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Coniston defense, Cecil Benavides kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leslie Pope. The Coniston fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leslie Pope should have stopped the shot. Cecil Benavides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Leslie Pope tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Cecil Benavides fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Leslie Pope, passed just outside the right post. Newbrook AFC's Carmen Lizotte was substituted for İlkan Karlukhan. After a rather tough play, Coniston's Jean Littlejohn got a free kick in the 90th minute. The Coniston fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Newbrook AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
