The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Edmonton Soccer Centre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otto Dube to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute Demetrius Yazzie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jackie Desnoyers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Josh Garza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Edmonton Soccer Centre booed when Mazenod FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bertrand Rowe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antoine Potts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben Tucker having to interfere. In the 16th minute Urbain Parish shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ben Tucker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josh Garza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josh Garza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 27 minutes, Urbain Parish managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edmonton Soccer Centre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Urbain Parish was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Art Gaulin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jackie Desnoyers having to interfere. Ben Tucker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urbain Parish, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Antoine Potts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mazenod FC's goalkeeper Ben Tucker, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Mazenod FC getting a freekick after 49 minutes play. Constant Koehler hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Urbain Parish stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ben Tucker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urbain Parish in the 56th minute of play. After 57 minutes, Wilson Ash mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mazenod FC and the Edmonton Soccer Centre players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mazenod FC's Wilson Ash got a free kick in the 57th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Art Gaulin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jackie Desnoyers. Edmonton Soccer Centre's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Art Gaulin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 69th minute Otto Dube shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ben Tucker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Demetrius Yazzie charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Demetrius Yazzie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mazenod FC's Demetrius Yazzie got a free kick in the 71st minute. Jackie Desnoyers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Art Gaulin in the 79th minute of play. After 81 minutes of play, Mazenod FC's Josh Garza made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jackie Desnoyers was left in no man's land by his defense there! Josh Garza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Jackie Desnoyers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mazenod FC's Ben Tucker proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Mazenod FC from getting a goal against them. Antoine Potts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ben Tucker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Josh Garza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute, Demetrius Yazzie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mazenod FC had won after a very even match.
