The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Mossbank AFC's zone, Jermaine Wesley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wayne Sylvester came out of the goal and Jermaine Wesley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute, Hyman Edwards hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the game, one of Chester:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A collision led to Mossbank AFC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Melvin Blanchard hit a great ball. Wayne Sylvester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jermaine Wesley in the 27th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Jermaine Wesley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wayne Sylvester was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. A collision led to Mossbank AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Hyman Edwards hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Oscar Wall's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julian Bray was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Melvin Blanchard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Julian Bray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jermaine Wesley was the one to do the kick off. With his leg Julian Bray managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Mossbank AFC's Oscar Wall fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Melvin Blanchard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julian Bray having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Chester's goalkeeper Julian Bray had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oscar Wall. In the 79th minute, Jermaine Wesley made a precise shot to the right of Wayne Sylvester. Mossbank AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Julian Bray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Melvin Blanchard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jermaine Wesley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melvin Blanchard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Mossbank AFC booed when Chester was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emmitt Compton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Melvin Blanchard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Julian Bray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mossbank AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Chester.
