Léonard Hackett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erick Felix, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Johnie Landry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Kim hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the match, Spondin's goal looked a bit too open when Johnie Landry came free, but Jarrett Keene reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, Newtown's Johnie Landry nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jarrett Keene made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 26th match minute, Newtown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tobias Caron to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute of the match Zane Oconnell sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jarrett Keene skillfully saved the ball. Margarito Deniger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarrett Keene having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Margarito Deniger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newtown's supporters rose to their feet, but Margarito Deniger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jarrett Keene breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Johnie Landry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Margarito Deniger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jarrett Keene was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Jarrett Keene stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Johnie Landry's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. If Margarito Deniger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 56 played minutes Newtown got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Caron. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Margarito Deniger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Johnie Landry scored 0-2 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jarrett Keene, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Margarito Deniger came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Newtown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Margarito Deniger couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Margarito Deniger in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jarrett Keene saved Spondin from getting behind. Margarito Deniger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarrett Keene having to interfere. Margarito Deniger received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jarrett Keene came out and tried to block the shot, but Margarito Deniger slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 87th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnie Landry got free with Jarrett Keene in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Johnie Landry came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Newtown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johnie Landry couldn't finish the play. Newtown's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
