In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Yellow Jackets FC's goalkeeper Kevin Hurt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Yellow Jackets FC's goal looked a bit too open when Erwin Dawkins came free, but Kevin Hurt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kevin Hurt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Max Larivière, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kevin Hurt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erwin Dawkins in the 38th minute of play. Torbay's Sergio Cantrell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Troy Brandt in the 42nd minute of play. In the 45th minute of the match Jonah Riggs sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kevin Hurt skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 48 minutes, Erwin Dawkins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Torbay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erwin Dawkins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Troy Brandt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Troy Brandt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Cantrell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Joseph Henley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathan Mays took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sergio Cantrell. Torbay's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Max Larivière might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kevin Hurt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Max Larivière ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Torbay getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. August Redd hit a great ball. Erwin Dawkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Hurt having to interfere. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Yellow Jackets FC's goalkeeper Kevin Hurt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Erwin Dawkins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 93 minutes of play, Torbay's Max Larivière made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kevin Hurt was left in no man's land by his defense there! 96 minutes into the match, Yellow Jackets FC's goalkeeper Kevin Hurt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erwin Dawkins. Torbay's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
