Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ricky Chan got the match started through his kick off. Wilson Ferland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jed Hammer's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Benoit Cartier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cheminis's supporters rose to their feet, but Benoit Cartier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alec Deblois breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jed Hammer in the 7th minute of play forced Cheminis's goalkeeper Wilson Ferland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 11 played minutes Cheminis got a freekick which was hit by Sandy Lange. Cornell Lentz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wilson Ferland. Cheminis's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Cory Spears had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gatineau FC's Jed Hammer in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cheminis's goalie prevented a goal. Cheminis's Ricky Chan got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jed Hammer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Wilson Ferland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cheminis's zone, Cory Spears stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Ferland came out of the goal and Cory Spears tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute, Gatineau FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ricky Chan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 34 played minutes Gatineau FC got a freekick which was hit by Edmundo Coté. Gatineau FC's Jed Hammer got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alec Deblois was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Ricky Chan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ricky Chan really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Benoit Cartier might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alec Deblois. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benoit Cartier ran back to his position shaking his head. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Jed Hammer made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricky Chan in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alec Deblois saved Gatineau FC from getting behind. 53 minutes into the match, Cheminis's Benoit Cartier sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alec Deblois narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Ricky Chan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alec Deblois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benoit Cartier in the 60th minute of the match. A hard shot 67 in the game by Cory Spears from a close distance when the talented Wilson Ferland managed to make a qualified save. Cheminis's players were relieved. The audience was convinced that Jed Hammer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilson Ferland was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. If Jed Hammer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benoit Cartier in the 75th minute of play forced Gatineau FC's goalkeeper Alec Deblois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute, Ricky Chan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alec Deblois was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. With an all-out effort, Gatineau FC's Wilson Ferland threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jed Hammer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jed Hammer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Wilson Ferland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kenny Harman hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Jed Hammer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Ferland having to interfere. If Benoit Cartier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benoit Cartier struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Alec Deblois didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cheminis. Cheminis's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
