Lyndon Cardona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lothaire Borden having to interfere. Isaac Douffett hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Athabasca AFC's Hershel Hoyt got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Deathbridge Rattlesnakes's zone, Hershel Hoyt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lothaire Borden came out of the goal and Hershel Hoyt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lothaire Borden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lyndon Cardona, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. If Hershel Hoyt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Athabasca AFC's Hershel Hoyt got a free kick in the 31st minute. Athabasca AFC's Virgil Wagner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felicien Cartier in the 35th minute of play. Felicien Cartier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Virgil Wagner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felicien Cartier to make the kick off. Lothaire Borden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lyndon Cardona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Micheal Gougeon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Virgil Wagner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgil Wagner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felicien Cartier in the 60th minute of the match. Deathbridge Rattlesnakes's Lothaire Borden proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Deathbridge Rattlesnakes from getting a goal against them. Virgil Wagner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felicien Cartier, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 75 minutes into the game, Tomas Bédard was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Athabasca AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deathbridge Rattlesnakes the free kick. After 75 played minutes Athabasca AFC got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Bédard. Chester Nicholson charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chester Nicholson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Isaac Douffett was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 79th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deathbridge Rattlesnakes's goalkeeper Lothaire Borden, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lyndon Cardona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lothaire Borden having to interfere. A collision led to Deathbridge Rattlesnakes getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Isaac Douffett hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the match, Deathbridge Rattlesnakes's goal looked a bit too open when Lyndon Cardona came free, but Lothaire Borden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Athabasca AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
