Spectators: 8021 (Terracing: 6018, Seating: 1844, VIP seats: 159) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jed Hammer took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the game, Edmundo Coté was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gatineau FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venice the free kick. If Trent Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 8 minutes into the match, Venice's Trent Rodrigues sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alec Deblois narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Venice's Trent Rodrigues dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Cory Spears blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rainier Drouin having to make a save. 15 minutes into the match, Venice's goal looked a bit too open when Jed Hammer came free, but Rainier Drouin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alec Deblois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trent Rodrigues in the 17th minute of the match. Boyd Desrosiers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Alec Deblois made a huge save. Alec Deblois made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Elroy Sauriol sent off a good shot on target. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Alec Deblois successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Trent Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alec Deblois having to interfere. When Cory Spears came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Gatineau FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cory Spears couldn't finish the play. Cory Spears received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Rainier Drouin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jed Hammer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Gatineau FC booed when Venice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roch Cordero didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 43 minutes, Frances Briggs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gatineau FC and the Venice players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 43rd match minute, Gatineau FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frances Briggs to maneuver through the defense.

The supporters of Gatineau FC booed when Venice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boyd Desrosiers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cornell Lentz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 54th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 58th minute Jed Hammer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rainier Drouin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venice's Trent Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 65 minutes into the match, Venice's goalkeeper Rainier Drouin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cory Spears. Rainier Drouin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cory Spears in the 66th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Gatineau FC's zone, Trent Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alec Deblois came out of the goal and Trent Rodrigues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elmer Jarvis hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Trent Rodrigues struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Alec Deblois didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venice. When Elroy Sauriol came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Venice fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elroy Sauriol couldn't finish the play. Sang Reyna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Rainier Drouin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gatineau FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
