Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Athabasca AFC's Lyndon Cardona started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lesueur's Bret Pineda got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mack Putnam's late challenge caught a Lesueur's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mack Putnam helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lesueur booed when Athabasca AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mack Putnam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eli Rudolph received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Virgil Wagner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henry LaGarde kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Athabasca AFC's Hershel Hoyt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Renaud Reed narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 69 minutes into the match, Athabasca AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Bret Pineda came free, but Virgil Wagner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 77 minutes of play Lesueur's Henry LaGarde was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Lesueur getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Henry LaGarde hit a great ball. In the 78th minute of the match Narcisse Bienvenue shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Renaud Reed showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Hershel Hoyt succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 81st playminute. When Hershel Hoyt came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Athabasca AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hershel Hoyt couldn't finish the play. After 85 played minutes Lesueur got a freekick which was hit by Reyes Wyatt. Renaud Reed took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lyndon Cardona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hal Galindo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Wagner having to interfere.
