The FC Montreal 2012 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clint Deaton should have stopped the shot. Gino Mackey came free with the goalkeeper in the 21st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Glenn Sierra could save by the left post. Glenn Sierra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olin Chavis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Morson FC's goalkeeper Glenn Sierra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lacy Arroyo. In the 26th minute, Alejandro Choi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Glenn Sierra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perry Keller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 31 in the game by Gino Mackey from a close distance when the talented Glenn Sierra managed to make a qualified save. Morson FC's players were relieved. 38 minutes into the match, Olin Chavis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Glenn Sierra, 3-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Javier Crews managed to get in a good position for a shot. Morson FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Javier Crews was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clint Deaton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Javier Crews put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Clint Deaton. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Javier Crews was the one to do the kick off. After 76 minutes of play, FC Montreal 2012's Olin Chavis made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Glenn Sierra was left in no man's land by his defense there! Glenn Sierra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olin Chavis, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Javier Crews received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Clint Deaton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Javier Crews could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Clint Deaton made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olin Chavis in the 95th minute of play forced Morson FC's goalkeeper Glenn Sierra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Morson FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
