Gaylord Eason stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodger Léveillé's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 11 minutes into the game, when Toby Beaver put in a rough tackle. After 10 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Waterloo Warriors! When the match had been going on for 13 minutes, Montreal Barca's Fausto Stanford got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Quintin Goldberg. 15 minutes into the game, Chauncey Trépanier recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Quintin Goldberg. Chauncey Trépanier showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. After a rather tough play, Waterloo Warriors's Eli Cox got a free kick in the 18th minute. Greg Sutton hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the match, Montreal Barca's Fausto Stanford broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Eli Cox hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Quintin Goldberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wes Hammons in the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Chauncey Trépanier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quintin Goldberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Montreal Barca's Gaylord Eason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christophe Blanton in the 36th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Mathieu McKay was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Montreal Barca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Waterloo Warriors the free kick. A collision led to Montreal Barca getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Mathieu McKay hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the match, Montreal Barca's goal looked a bit too open when Christophe Blanton came free, but Gaylord Eason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chauncey Trépanier was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match Fausto Stanford sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Quintin Goldberg skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elwood Snider in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Quintin Goldberg saved Waterloo Warriors from getting behind. If Trevor Poisson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Montreal Barca's goal looked a bit too open when Christophe Blanton came free, but Gaylord Eason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlton Echeverri during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Waterloo Warriors getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Carlton Echeverri hit a great ball. After 64 minutes, Eli Cox mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Waterloo Warriors and the Montreal Barca players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Montreal Barca booed when Waterloo Warriors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eli Cox didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elwood Snider's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Quintin Goldberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. If Christophe Blanton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 83 played minutes Montreal Barca got a freekick which was hit by Chauncey Trépanier. Gaylord Eason was a little too slow when Christophe Blanton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 3-3. Waterloo Warriors's Christophe Blanton got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eli Cox recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Quintin Goldberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chauncey Trépanier, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Waterloo Warriors were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
