In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Vancouver Blazers's goalkeeper Benny Ladner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Warner Hankins came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Vancouver Blazers's Tyrell Zepeda. But to his dismay, Tyrell Zepeda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Freddie Winn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tyrell Zepeda came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Vancouver Blazers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tyrell Zepeda couldn't finish the play. Warner Hankins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adalberto Dodson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Warner Hankins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Al Bell, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Vancouver Blazers's Benny Ladner proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Vancouver Blazers from getting a goal against them. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The Club Atletico River Plate fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in Vancouver Blazers's zone, Freddie Winn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benny Ladner came out of the goal and Freddie Winn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Freddie Winn struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Benny Ladner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atletico River Plate. Romain Pendleton scored 4-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benny Ladner, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Romain Pendleton struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Benny Ladner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atletico River Plate. Club Atletico River Plate's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
