In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sandwich AFC's goalkeeper Randy Little, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Sandwich AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Wiarton were winning 0-1.

Sandwich AFC's Randy Little played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rocco Sanchez in the 58th minute of play. Geraldo Caballero struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Jourdain Minor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sandwich AFC. Jourdain Minor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timothy Arrington, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Rocco Sanchez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Randy Little having to interfere.
