Lowell Kincaid did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Royal Perrault 22 minutes into the match. Noel Wynn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Laframboise, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Jared Simard's late challenge caught a Tlell's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuel Laframboise in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Noel Wynn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Noe Morse hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Lowell Kincaid managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Recife's supporters rose to their feet, but Lowell Kincaid was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Royal Perrault breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emory Painter's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Royal Perrault skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Noe Morse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Sport Recife's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Laframboise came free, but Noel Wynn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Laframboise in the 44th minute of play forced Sport Recife's goalkeeper Noel Wynn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

For all the effort they put into the match, the Tlell players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sport Recife.
