In the 2nd match minute, Cowley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brice Gaulin to maneuver through the defense. 5 minutes into the match, Alonzo Rowley dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Barnabé Rutledge, 1-0. Jose Becker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reggie Metcalf in the 7th minute of the match. Brice Gaulin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Becker having to interfere. After 20 played minutes, Watson's Colombain Romano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Barnabé Rutledge came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Watson reached it. The crowd rose to their feet as Alonzo Rowley kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Barnabé Rutledge. That made the score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. Brice Gaulin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Watson's Jose Becker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brice Gaulin in the 33rd minute of play. Jose Becker didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leland Jacobs went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Brice Gaulin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Jose Becker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reggie Metcalf in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jose Becker prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lazare Loomis's late challenge caught a Cowley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lazare Loomis helped the player get up and apologised. Lazare Loomis hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute Brice Gaulin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Becker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Watson's Marc Davignon got a free kick in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alonzo Rowley to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Watson getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Harold Jack hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Brice Gaulin could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Jose Becker however easily saved by the left post. 54 minutes into the match, Alonzo Rowley notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Cowley's Barnabé Rutledge. Barnabé Rutledge was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brice Gaulin got free with Jose Becker in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 64th minute, Brice Gaulin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jose Becker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reggie Metcalf, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 67 minutes into the game, Watson's Alonzo Rowley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Barnabé Rutledge made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. After 75 played minutes Cowley's Brice Gaulin stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Jose Becker stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Watson of the goal. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reggie Metcalf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Jose Becker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lou Crabtree during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Watson booed when Cowley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lou Crabtree didn't get a good kick on the ball. Many of Cowley's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Cowley may have spent more time on the ball, but Watson were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
