Spectators: 8008 (Terracing: 6008, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Aristide Elder started the match with the kick off. When Aristide Elder came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the SmokeBombers FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aristide Elder couldn't finish the play. Tlell's Royal Perrault played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aristide Elder in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, SmokeBombers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lon Dupéré came free, but Philibert Cotton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, SmokeBombers FC's Aristide Elder sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Royal Perrault narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Saul Driscoll kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. If Aristide Elder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Royal Perrault made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Guilmette in the 24th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Aristide Elder got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Danny Guilmette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Royal Perrault tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 32 played minutes Tlell got a freekick which was hit by Noe Morse. Aristide Elder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Danny Guilmette took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Royal Perrault. Royal Perrault dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Philibert Cotton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lon Dupéré, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 45 minutes, Edison McQueen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SmokeBombers FC and the Tlell players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Tlell booed when SmokeBombers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edison McQueen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuel Laframboise struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Philibert Cotton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tlell. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lon Dupéré to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th match minute, SmokeBombers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edison McQueen to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Samuel Laframboise managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tlell's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel Laframboise was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Philibert Cotton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th minute Aristide Elder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Royal Perrault saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of SmokeBombers FC booed when Tlell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Laframboise didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Danny Guilmette's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Royal Perrault was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lon Dupéré in the 78th minute of play forced SmokeBombers FC's goalkeeper Philibert Cotton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
