Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Perry Sneed started the match with the kick off. Odis Petrie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 10th minute, Pictou AFC's Russel Guay ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Walton Moore. Walton Moore yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Ramiro Aguirre didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claude Kay went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Odis Petrie put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Ramiro Aguirre. Odis Petrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Ramiro Aguirre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Simcoe FC booed when Pictou AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulrich Braswell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramiro Aguirre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Odis Petrie in the 31st minute of play. Odis Petrie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ramiro Aguirre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odis Petrie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denis Glenn kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Claude Kay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Simcoe FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claude Kay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Odis Petrie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Simcoe FC's Walton Moore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andre Rowland in the 52nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Odis Petrie's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ramiro Aguirre was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Perry Sneed sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Corey Nesbitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Denis Glenn kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ramiro Aguirre. That made the score 2-3 in the 62 minute of play. If Claude Kay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 69th minute, Odis Petrie reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ramiro Aguirre. The goal made the score 2-4. Odis Petrie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Claude Kay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 78 played minutes Pictou AFC got a freekick which was hit by Russel Guay. Claude Kay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ramiro Aguirre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Odis Petrie in the 87th minute of play. If Odis Petrie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claude Kay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro Aguirre having to interfere. Claude Kay in the 92ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ramiro Aguirre, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 97 minutes into the game, Damon Croteau was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pictou AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Simcoe FC the free kick. In the 97th minute, Damon Croteau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Simcoe FC's Fredrick Giroux tried to score from far away in the 98th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Simcoe FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
