The audience thought a goal was coming when Leland Trejo got free with Phillip Bradshaw in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 6 minutes into the game, Edgard Brandon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Phillip Bradshaw was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Renard Dumas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Connaught's supporters rose to their feet, but Renard Dumas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tracy Bélanger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 12 minutes, Tuan Daniels mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Connaught and the MTL Impact players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Jourdain Cullen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chadwick Hooper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tracy Bélanger having to interfere. After 24 minutes, Leland Trejo made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Connaught's Phillip Bradshaw tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Tracy Bélanger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renard Dumas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Connaught booed when MTL Impact was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Brandon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, Chadwick Hooper ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tracy Bélanger was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chadwick Hooper was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Connaught's Ward Crowell got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Phillip Bradshaw showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jourdain Cullen in the 53rd minute of the match. Jourdain Cullen scored 4-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Phillip Bradshaw, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chadwick Hooper in the 87th minute of play forced MTL Impact's goalkeeper Tracy Bélanger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgard Brandon kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Connaught's Nigel Wynn tried to score from far away in the 90th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Leland Trejo kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, MTL Impact's goal looked a bit too open when Chadwick Hooper came free, but Tracy Bélanger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. MTL Impact fully deserved thier win.
