Westholm FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pictou AFC the free kick. The supporters of Pictou AFC booed when Westholm FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Hill didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valentine Bowling got free with Ramiro Aguirre in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Russel Guay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elmo McFarland having to interfere. In the 35th match minute, Westholm FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentine Bowling to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Branden Lemon fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Corey Nesbitt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th minute Russel Guay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elmo McFarland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Elmo McFarland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perry Sneed in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 66th minute Michael Hill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro Aguirre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
