The tension between the Milltown and the Toronto FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Toronto FC booed when Milltown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jefferey Grandpré didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gene Mott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rashad Hatch took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cesar Mailly. Cesar Mailly dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Cesar Mailly stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mathew Rivers's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Toronto FC's zone, Gene Mott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cesar Mailly came out of the goal and Gene Mott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rashad Hatch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesar Mailly having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Haywood Favreau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Milltown's supporters rose to their feet, but Haywood Favreau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cesar Mailly breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cesar Mailly was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mathew Rivers showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 61 minute of play.
