The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The Canadian Devils fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when Canadian Devils's Kirby Carlson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Canadian Devils fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Virgil Strong hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. If Todd Nelson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Neville McNeal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waylon West in the 29th minute of play. In the 33rd minute Kirby Carlson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolf Titus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, NIZHIJIANG's goalkeeper Rolf Titus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Todd Nelson. Neville McNeal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waylon West, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Todd Nelson got free with Rolf Titus in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolf Titus came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Canadian Devils's Todd Nelson. But to his dismay, Todd Nelson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0.

NIZHIJIANG's Rolf Titus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michel Hatcher in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirby Carlson in the 60th minute of play forced NIZHIJIANG's goalkeeper Rolf Titus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rdth minute of the game Kirby Carlson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NIZHIJIANG's Rolf Titus was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Todd Nelson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canadian Devils's supporters rose to their feet, but Todd Nelson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolf Titus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Kirby Carlson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as NIZHIJIANG's Kory Rodriguez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Neville McNeal. That made the score 3-1 after 74 minutes of play. After 77 minutes of play NIZHIJIANG's Virgil Strong was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Virgil Strong hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute Todd Nelson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolf Titus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolf Titus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kirby Carlson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to NIZHIJIANG getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Kory Rodriguez hit a great ball. Rolf Titus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kirby Carlson in the 86th minute of the match. Rolf Titus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kirby Carlson, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Canadian Devils fans cheered their team off the field, for while NIZHIJIANG had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
