Adalberto Knapp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimmy Grandpré in the 10th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Fowler's Rocky Mélançon got a free kick in the 11th minute. FC Trois-Rivières's Jean McLean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nolan Lovett in the 21st minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Trois-Rivières's Andy Garrison got a free kick in the 24th minute. Bertram Hatch took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jean McLean. In the 39th minute Germain Flint shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean McLean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jean McLean didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nolan Lovett went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 44 played minutes Fowler got a freekick which was hit by Bryce Butcher. If Jimmy Grandpré had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jimmy Grandpré made a kick off. Bryce Butcher struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Jean McLean didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fowler. The supporters of Fowler booed when FC Trois-Rivières was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yong Mothé didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Fowler's Jean McLean threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nolan Lovett, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some careless play in the Fowler defense, Anthony Randolph kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adalberto Knapp. The Fowler fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adalberto Knapp should have stopped the shot. The supporters of FC Trois-Rivières booed when Fowler was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nolan Lovett didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Nolan Lovett's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jean McLean was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Germain Flint received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Jean McLean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Nolan Lovett took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Jean McLean to make any attempt to save it. Bryce Butcher was shown his second yellow card after 78 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 78 played minutes Fowler got a freekick which was hit by Bryce Butcher. If Anthony Randolph had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute.
