In the 12th match minute, Canadian Devils was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Todd Nelson to maneuver through the defense. After 17 played minutes Waterloo Warriors got a freekick which was hit by Marcel Currie. Hiram Whitley charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Neville McNeal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Waterloo Warriors's Norman Dumas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirby Carlson in the 57th minute of play. Neville McNeal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jordon Achin in the 60th minute of the match. After 63 minutes, Horace Paulet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canadian Devils and the Waterloo Warriors players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Canadian Devils's Horace Paulet got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Todd Nelson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Norman Dumas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
