After a defensive mix-up in Waterloo Warriors's zone, Roderick Bonilla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norman Dumas came out of the goal and Roderick Bonilla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcel Currie kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. When Russ Henderson came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the BrVan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Russ Henderson couldn't finish the play. After 32 played minutes BrVan got a freekick which was hit by Cole Christiansen. After 33 played minutes, Waterloo Warriors's Dylan Castillo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Raymundo Thomson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Waterloo Warriors reached it. With a little luck, Waterloo Warriors's Norman Dumas got control of the ball when Roderick Bonilla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Russ Henderson might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Norman Dumas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The wind increased when Russ Henderson made the kick off in the second half. After 50 minutes, Lambert McDermott mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Waterloo Warriors and the BrVan players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of BrVan booed when Waterloo Warriors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lambert McDermott didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Waterloo Warriors players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for BrVan.
