Edgardo Larsen hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stanton Purcell in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean McLean saved FC Trois-Rivières from getting behind. Jean McLean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stanton Purcell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jean McLean stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stanton Purcell's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 25th minute, Jimmy Grandpré got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28thth minute of the game Maurice Carignan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Trois-Rivières's Jean McLean was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stanton Purcell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jean McLean stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stanton Purcell's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Dorsey Crane hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 34th match minute, Richmond FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by René Grenier to maneuver through the defense. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After a defensive mix-up in FC Trois-Rivières's zone, Dorsey Crane stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean McLean came out of the goal and Dorsey Crane tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurice Carignan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stanton Purcell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brock Jalbert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimmy Grandpré in the 61st minute of play. Brock Jalbert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anthony Randolph, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anthony Randolph in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brock Jalbert saved Richmond FC from getting behind. Jean McLean stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maurice Carignan's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute, Andy Garrison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Richmond FC's Shannon Aragon couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 69th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Trois-Rivières. Maurice Carignan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Jean McLean made a huge save. In the 73rd minute, Thomas Simon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Trois-Rivières's Jean McLean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanton Purcell in the 82nd minute of play. A collision led to FC Trois-Rivières getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Jimmy Grandpré hit a great ball. Despite being the better team, Richmond FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
