The referee ignored Que The Tides's protests and gave Allen Murphy a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th minute, Allen Murphy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ervin Garrett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Scot Desforges in the 15th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Scot Desforges came free, but Ervin Garrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cletus Charette kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. River Plate's Jame Melton couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 25th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Que The Tides. Shawn Léveillé sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute, Émilien Stephenson made a precise shot to the right of Ervin Garrett. River Plate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The supporters of River Plate booed when Que The Tides was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Scot Desforges didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Que The Tides were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Scot Desforges to make the kick off. River Plate's Percy Ruth got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dominic Marin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Les Hatch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jame Melton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joseph Fowler in the 62nd minute of play forced Que The Tides's goalkeeper Les Hatch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brooks Murray got free with Ervin Garrett in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the River Plate defense, Brooks Murray kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ervin Garrett. The River Plate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ervin Garrett should have stopped the shot. Scot Desforges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Les Hatch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shawn Léveillé, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, River Plate's goalkeeper Ervin Garrett had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brooks Murray. Percy Ruth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Les Hatch having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Que The Tides's Dominic Marin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. When Scot Desforges came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Que The Tides fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Scot Desforges couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd minute, Brooks Murray got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brooks Murray could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Ervin Garrett made a huge save. Que The Tides were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over River Plate's much stronger midfield.
