Spectators: 7994 (Terracing: 5997, Seating: 1838, VIP seats: 159) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Shane Milton got the match started through his kick off. 9 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Shane Milton came free, but Ervin Garrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ervin Garrett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnoldo Joyner in the 16th minute of play. Percy Ruth blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hassan Talon having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Damion Whitfield during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 29 minutes, Lyle McGill mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the River Plate and the St.Mary players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 29 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Lyle McGill. After having played for 36 minutes, Joseph Fowler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joseph Fowler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Percy Ruth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joseph Fowler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Hassan Talon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ervin Garrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Joyner, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Percy Ruth stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of St.Mary booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dominic Long didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Walter to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute of the match Corey Denis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ervin Garrett skillfully saved the ball. Shane Milton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Percy Ruth managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Percy Ruth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hassan Talon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 64th minute, St.Mary's Arnoldo Joyner dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Percy Ruth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the St.Mary defense, Percy Ruth kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hassan Talon. The St.Mary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hassan Talon should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Shane Milton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ervin Garrett came out of the goal and Shane Milton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. St.Mary were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after River Plate's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Corey Denis took the corner. After a defensive mix-up in St.Mary's zone, Percy Ruth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hassan Talon came out of the goal and Percy Ruth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the St.Mary players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for River Plate.
