Seating: 1840, VIP seats: 24) Paul Champion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Tackett in the 4th minute of play. Javier Swan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paul Champion having to make a save. In the 7th minute, Steven Tackett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Laval Canadians fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Montreal FC's Grant Vernadeau shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 13th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Terry Vachon but with some difficulty. In the 17th minute Dewayne Bérard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Terry Vachon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 20 in the game by Emmanuel Bernard from a close distance when the talented Terry Vachon managed to make a qualified save. Laval Canadians's players were relieved. Emmanuel Bernard struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Terry Vachon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montreal FC. In the 25th minute Dewayne Bérard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Terry Vachon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes Laval Canadians's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emmanuel Bernard who took care of the corner kick. Montreal FC's Emmanuel Bernard was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Terry Vachon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emmanuel Bernard in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Terry Vachon saved Laval Canadians from getting behind. When Emmanuel Bernard came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Montreal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emmanuel Bernard couldn't finish the play. Paul Champion came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Laval Canadians's Darren Aupry. But to his dismay, Darren Aupry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 36th minute Steven Tackett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Champion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emmanuel Bernard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry Vachon having to interfere. Paul Champion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Swan in the 45th minute of play. Montreal FC's Emmanuel Bernard got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
Bradford Aupry was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 57 minutes into the match. After 57 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Montreal FC! In the 60th minute there was a penalty for Laval Canadians. Frederick Fournier stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Paul Champion. 1-3. Montreal FC's Paul Champion played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Javier Swan in the 66th minute of play. 67 minutes into the game, Javier Swan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Paul Champion. Javier Swan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. When Dewayne Bérard came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Montreal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dewayne Bérard couldn't finish the play. After 77 minutes of play, Montreal FC's Dewayne Bérard made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Terry Vachon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marlon Arrington's late challenge caught a Laval Canadians's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marlon Arrington helped the player get up and apologised. Marlon Arrington kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Stanford Houser hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Paul Champion took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Javier Swan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommy Piedalue got free with Paul Champion in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Steven Tackett could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 99th minute of the match, but Paul Champion made a huge save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Laval Canadians eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
