Brandon Fontenots short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Houston Grimes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dick Spivey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Houston Grimes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dick Spivey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lucius Sullivan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taylor Fagan having to interfere. If Glenn McCollum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raphael Brian hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute, Murdochville's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lucius Sullivan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 89 played minutes, Murdochville's Cameron Burkett shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Houston Grimes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Murdochville reached it. Dick Spivey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Houston Grimes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Toronto AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Brandon Fontenot came free, but Houston Grimes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
